+FAQ’s
1. Do I have to attend Oak Community Church to be a part of the underground?
No. About two-thirds of our students do not attend church, attend other churches on Sunday mornings, or have parents that call other churches their home.
2. How can you get my student involved?
There are a number of things that we can do to help get your student involved. These include, but are not limited to having one of our leaders and/or youth pastor call and/or write your student to personally invite him or her to one of our events or programs, and secondly, having a student or two do the same. We would love together with you on this and do our best to make it happen. Please contact Dan Cumberland at the church office and we’ll work from there! 630-323-0087 or e-mail pastordan at oakcommunitychurch dot org.
3. What do you discuss & teach about?
At the Underground we believe that the Bible is the source of Truth and the primary means through which God has revealed Himself to the World. We furthermore believe that God’s Word is just as relevant today as it was the day it was written. Most of what we teach and discuss comes straight from the Bible. We constantly strive to show students how God’s Word (the Bible) impacts their lives on a practical day-to-day level as well as giving them the tools to study the Bible on their own.
4. What are your beliefs?
The Underground, being the Student Ministry of Oak Community Church, holds to the same beliefs and doctrine. A doctinal statement can be found on the website of the church.
